No. 23 Berry Sweeps Baseball in Saturday Doubleheader

Vikings Best Majors, 6-3 and 13-0 with a Seven-Inning Perfect Game

MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Millsaps baseball team (2-10, 0-2 SAA) fell in both games of its doubleheader against No. 23 Berry College (12-2, 3-2 SAA), 6-3 & 13-0 at William R. Bowdoin Field on Saturday.

GAME ONE: 6-3
Sophomore pitcher Wil Wood pitched all eight innings for the Majors in Game One, recording eight strikeouts. Senior infielder Mason Little had a solid game for the Majors with a two-RBI double in the top of the eighth inning to get Millsaps on the scoreboard.

Berry scored the first five runs of the game with three runs in the third and two runs in the fifth. The Majors' would add a third run in the eighth after a sacrifice fly from junior infielder Avery Brock scored fellow junior infielder Chris Hart. The Vikings would tack on another run in the bottom half of the frame for the final score.

GAME TWO: 13-0 (7 innings)
Berry's pitcher Patrick O'Rourke threw a seven-inning, seven-strikeout perfect game to stall out the Majors offense in Game Two.

A nine-run inning in the bottom of the first from Berry put the game in jeopardy early as well for Millsaps.  On the mound for the Majors, junior pitcher Jackson Russo struck out four batters in the final three innings in relief.

The Majors will face the same Vikings squad in Georgia for another doubleheader on Sunday. The first pitch will be at 11 a.m. with the second game following immediately after. Live video and stats will be provided at gomajors.com.
