COLUMBUS, Miss. – The Millsaps women's soccer team faced off against the Mississippi University for Women in their first away game of the season on Saturday at the Sprint Mart Field. The Owls defeated the Majors by a score of 2-1.

Madison Milano had an impressive game with five saves and one goal allowed in 56 minutes of action.

Mary Ranager wasted no time getting on the scoreboard to start the second half as she scored her first goal of the season in the opening minute unassisted to give the Majors a 1-0 lead.
The Owls answered with a goal of their own in the 56th minute on a strike from Hannah Helms.
Late into the second there were three yellow cards and four red cards. What was up to that point an even game, led to a 10-9 player advantage for the W after two Majors and one Owl player were sent off.
The W was able to capitalize with a goal in the 82nd minute to take a 2-1 lead.
The Owls finished with nine shots on goal, while the Majors put five shots on target. Millsaps registered five corners to the W's three.
Millsaps will next travel to Rhodes College on Saturday, March 13 with the match beginning at 2 p.m. CT. Live video and stats will be available on gomajors.com.
