ATLANTA – The Millsaps women's tennis program concluded its Southern Athletic Association (SAA) regular season with a perfect 6-0 record courtesy of a 9-0 victory at Oglethorpe on Saturday. On the men's side, the Majors were downed 8-1 to fall to 2-4 in SAA play.
Up Next: The Majors will face the Stormy Petrels to conclude the regular season in non-SAA matches on Sunday, with both teams beginning at 9 a.m. CT.
Women's Recap: 9-0
Millsaps (7-3, 6-0 SAA) continued its impressive season with a 9-0 sweep of Oglethorpe (3-8, 1-5 SAA). It improved the Majors to 6-0 in SAA matches and an incredible 50-4 mark overall in those contests. Of those six league victories, three of them were sweeps.
Additionally, the Majors finished the SAA slate at 18-0 in doubles action. They were also a perfect 3-0 in an abbreviated 2019-20 season and haven't lost an SAA doubles match since April 14, 2019.
The duos of
Grace Gaskins/
Camille Fremaux (8-3) and
Maggie Dabadie/
Morris Kelly Clayton (8-4) dominated yet again on Courts 1 and 2 to open the match. Both teams improved to 6-0 in 2021. Additionally, the pairing of
Morgan Jenkins/
Jillian Sandoz (8-3) were victors on Court 3.
All six singles courts were decided in two sets in favor of Millsaps. On Court 1, Gaskins didn't drop a point with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 sweep. She hasn't dropped a set this season and has won her last 10 matches dating back to last season.
Fremaux (6-1, 6-2) and senior
Ella Shields (6-4, 6-0) also improved to 6-0 in singles on Courts 3 and 4, respectively.
On Court 2, Dabadie moved to 5-1 with a 6-1, 6-0 winner. Rounding out the Major triumphs were Clayton (6-0, 6-0) on Court 5 and
Isabella Hutchins (6-0, 6-1) on Court 6.

Men's Recap: 1-8
On the men's side, Oglethorpe (10-1, 5-1 SAA) was too tough for Millsaps (4-6, 2-4 SAA). The Stormy Petrels took home an 8-1 win.
Benjamin Falk and
Alex Gardiner teamed up to score the lone Major point in doubles with an 8-7 epic win on Court 3. The teams of

Hamilton Jackson/
Kells Hecht both were bested by 8-4 decisions.
Oglethorpe did the reverse of what the Millsaps women accomplished, sweeping matches on all six singles courts. Kimball, Falk and Jackson all forced tiebreakers in their second sets, but each came up a little short falling in two.
Hecht fell 6-1 in set one, but successfully forced a third with a 6-3 winner. He was then downed, 6-3 in the decisive final set on Court 5.
