JACKSON, Miss. — The Millsaps men's soccer team (1-4, 1-4 SAA) fell to Berry College (6-0-1, 5-0-1 SAA) by a score of 7-0 at Harper Davis Field on Friday afternoon.
Reigning SAA Defensive Player of the week Kelvin Gardner made 13 saves in the match for the Majors.
James Kelly, Jacks Dowdy and Colby Armstrong all had solid opportunities to score with one shot on goal each.
Jacob Antoine of Berry was unstoppable, scoring four goals off the bench.
The Vikings got on the board with a goal netted in the 17th minute. Back-to-back goals from Antoine in the 32nd and 34th minutes helped vault the Vikings to a 4-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Majors' best chance to score came in the 35th minute when a header from Dowdy was saved off the fingertips of the Berry goalkeeper.
The Vikings added three more goals in the second half for a 7-0 victory.
In the regular season finale, the Majors will host Oglethorpe on Sunday, April 11. The match will double as Senior Day and open with a 3 p.m. kick off. Live video and live stats links will be available on gomajors.com.
