This is the third of a series of fall and winter schedule reveals for Millsaps Athletics as sports are scheduled to return to their usual cycles on the calendar. Times and dates are subject to change.
JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps volleyball program looks to continue its positive momentum as the Majors are slated to begin a full fall schedule, the team announced on Thursday.
Millsaps ended the spring winners of four of their final seven matches, including an epic five-set comeback over No. 10 and eventual conference tournament champion Birmingham-Southern (BSC) to close out the campaign. The fall will see the Majors host 12 opponents as well as mark the return of the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational, held on both Jackson campuses.
The season gets started on Wednesday, Sept. 1 as the Majors welcome in the Rangers of Northwest Community College, which is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
Millsaps and Belhaven will then play host to six squads in the return of the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational, Sept. 3-4. The Majors will face Mary Hardin-Baylor at 3 p.m. and Centenary at 5 p.m. on Friday inside the Hanger Dome. On Saturday, Millsaps will challenge LeTourneau at 10 a.m. and rival Belhaven to close the competition at 4 p.m. on home court.
After eight contests on the road, the Majors will return to face Centre on Saturday, Oct. 2 and Sewanee the following day. Both matches will begin at 12 p.m.
Homecoming Weekend will then see Millsaps host two more Southern Athletic Association foes. Berry invades Friday, Oct. 8 for a 6 p.m. match, which is followed by Oglethorpe on Saturday at 11 a.m. Millsaps will then host BSC for a midweek contest on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.
After a pair of road opponents, the Majors will close out the regular season at home with an 11 a.m. match against Rhodes on Saturday, Oct. 23 and 12 p.m. contest at Hendrix on Sunday, Oct. 24.
Millsaps will prepare for postseason play by hosting MUW on Saturday, Oct. 30. The SAA Tournament will take place Friday, Nov. 5 through Sunday, Nov. 7.
