MARSHALL, Texas – Millsaps women's soccer came alive in the second half, but it was not enough as the Majors fell to East Texas Baptist University, 4-0 on Friday.
Senior
goalkeeper Maddie Moore tallied seven saves on Cornish Field. Freshman
Camille Blanchard led the Majors with two shots on goal, while juniors
Riley Ely and
Alexi Martinez each recorded an on-shot attempt.
ETBU (3-0) scored at the third, 27th and 28th minute and led Millsaps (0-3) significantly on shot attempts in the first half.
However, the Majors outshot the Tigers 8-7 in the second half and tied 4-4 with on-target opportunities. ETBU added a final marker in the 62nd minute to push their lead to the final 4-0 total.
