SALEM, Va. – The Millsaps women's soccer team fell to the University of Lynchburg, 6-0 at Donald J. Kerr Stadium in Day Two of the 2021 Roanoke Invitational Showcase on Sunday.
Senior
goalkeeper Madison Milano recorded a career-best 12 saves in the loss on the campus of Roanoke College.
Lynchburg scored in the second minute of the match, but were held in check until late into the first half. A flurry of three goals less than four minutes apart in the closing minutes gave the Hornets a daunting 4-0 halftime advantage.
The foes from Virginia added two final tallies in the 59th and 81st minute to down the Majors.
Millsaps will head to the Lone Star State next with a matchup at East Texas Baptist University. Opening kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 with live video and live stats links available at gomajors.com.
