BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – In their first weekend of competition back since Dec. 4, the Millsaps men's and women's swimming and diving programs came back in fast form at the Birmingham CrossPlex. On Friday, the Majors competed against Birmingham-Southern and Montevallo, while they faced BSC and Berry on Saturday.
Freshman
Catherine Passarelli highlighted the weekend with a new school record time of 5 minutes, 49.84 seconds in the 500-yard freestyle. The Ocean Spring, Miss., product bettered her own mark by a second set back on Nov. 12.
Fellow classmate
Kat Burns was swift as well, finishing third in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:13.56.
Fifth year swimmer
Bryan Sullivan was victorious in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking a swift 21.13.
On Saturday, Sullivan claimed two more wins in the 100-yard backstroke and yet again in the 50 free. The Jackson Prep graduate swam the backstroke in 51.41 and covered the free in 21.47.
Passarelli concluded the weekend with another strong showing in her distance specialties. She paced the 1000-yard freestyle in 12:09.03 to finish third overall.
Millsaps is scheduled to travel to Conway, Ark. to swim against Hendrix College next Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. Fans looking to attend should monitor Millsaps Athletics social media and the schedule page on gomajors.com.
