FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. – The Millsaps men's golf program faced its most difficult competition to date in the Oglethorpe Fall Invitational at the Royal Lakes Golf & Country Club in Georgia, Monday and Tuesday.
Millsaps finished the par-72, two-round course in 18th out of 22 programs, which included 11 teams ranked or receiving votes in the latest Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll.
Senior
Andrew Lovejoy cracked the top 50 in a tie for 48th place at six-over (77-73—150). His one-over total in Round Two allowed him to jump 11 spots up the leaderboard.
Classmate
Krtin Udith leapt up four positions into a tie for 55th after a one-over Round Two of his own (79-73—152). Senior
Gabe Brooks posted two consistent rounds of 78 to finish 12-over (tied for 76th).
Rounding out the Major competitors were sophomore
Will Danielson and junior
Harrison Rhymes. Danielson carded a plus-19, while Rhymes finished at plus-24.
The Majors will next close their fall slate at the Carey Gulf Shore Invitational at the Peninsula Golf Club along the Alabama coast, Oct. 24-25.
