DANVILLE, Ky. & SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Millsaps men's soccer team was bested in a pair of SAA road matches, falling 11-0 at Centre on Friday and 4-0 at Sewanee on Sunday.
Match 1: Centre
Millsaps recorded four fouls to Centre's eight, but the Colonels outshot the Majors 21-3. Freshman goalkeeper
Michael Hamauei tallied four saves as Centre was impressive with eight first-half goals.
Sophomore
Kade Folse recorded a shot attempt and
Jacks Dowdy added two attempts with one on goal.
Match 2: Sewanee
The second match of the weekend was closer and saw the Majors the more disciplined side once again. Millsaps totaled five fouls to Sewanee's eight. The Tigers did outshoot the Majors 27-5, including 14-2 on-target attempts.
Rising freshman goalkeeper
Jack Maloney registered a career-high 10 saves in defeat. Dowdy led Millsaps with two shot attempts and one on net.
Freshman
Sam Cagle also recorded a shot on target, while classmate
Ai Suzuki accumulated a shot try.
Millsaps now heads to Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala. for a Wednesday non-conference showdown. Live video and stats will be available at gomajors.com, beginning at 5 p.m.
