ATLANTA – Millsaps football sophomore kicker and punter
Ethan Klapatch did his part to help control field position in a 31-7 defeat to Rhodes during Homecoming. His play earned him SAA Special Teams of the Week plaudits, the conference office announced on Monday.
The Metairie, La., product averaged 47.6 yards on five punts with a long of 56 yards, one touchback and two sailing 50-plus yards. Klapatch also averaged 57.5 yards on two kickoffs and made his lone PAT.
Monday's announcement is the second time Klapatch has earned the weekly honor in his young Millsaps career. He earned the honor following last season's finale on Nov. 15, 2021.
Klapatch also becomes the third Millsaps football student-athlete this season to secure SAA weekly recognition. Sophomore quarterback
Brody Davis was named SAA Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 10, while freshman defensive back
Tondarrius Stallion was also tabbed SAA Special Teams Player of the Week on Sept. 12.
Millsaps now travels to face Berry College on Saturday, Oct. 29. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT with live video and live stats available at gomajors.com.
