ATLANTA – Millsaps swimming and diving graduate student-athlete and 2022 NCAA national qualifier
Bryan Sullivan opened the 2022-23 season with more recognition on Monday. Sullivan was selected the SAA Men's Swimmer of the Week following two strong meets over the weekend.
On Friday, Sullivan and his men's teammates competed against NCAA DI Alabama and NCAA DII Delta State. The weekend concluded with a meet at Rhodes College in a metered pool on Saturday.
The Jackson, Miss., product swam swiftly in the 50-yard freestyle for second place and a time of 21.04 seconds. His time currently ranks second across all swimmers in DIII early in the season.
Sullivan also clocked 51.41 seconds in the 100-yard butterfly to end the event in fifth.
On Saturday, the MBA graduate student claimed first place in the 50-meter freestyle in 24.16. He also helped the 200-meter freestyle relay squad finish second in 1:44.51.
Monday marks the fourth time in Sullivan's Millsaps career that he has been named the SAA Men's Swimmer of the Week. The previous three occurrences came during his first year as a Major while a senior in 2021-22.
Millsaps will return home for the next three meets. The first will take place on Saturday, Oct. 15 at GRIT Training in Flowood, Miss., against the University of Montevallo, beginning at 12 p.m.
