JACKSON, Miss. – A pair of dynamic Millsaps baseball underclassmen displayed poise beyond their years in the second weekend of the season and were named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday. Sophomore pitcher Chambers McGilberry and freshman center fielder Bradley Pelle were instrumental in propelling the Majors to two wins during the Millsaps Baseball Classic.  

The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's weekly honor roll, in its tenth season of recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week. Players are selected from nominations from their school's sports information directors. This is the first Team of the Week of the 2022 season.

Right-handed starter McGilberry struck out eight batters, while surrendering just one hit in 7.0 innings pitched to propel the Majors to a 9-0 win over Millikin on Saturday. The Camden, Ala., native only faced 22 batters, yielded zero walks and allowed no runners to reach scoring position.

Pelle finished 6-for-9 at the plate, while tallying three walks, three RBIs and three runs. A product of Kenner, La., he also provided a pair of crucial diving web gems in a narrow 5-4 win over Huntingdon on Sunday.
 
The Majors will remain at home and next face Westminster College in a doubleheader, beginning at 1 p.m. at Twenty Field on Friday. Live video and live stats can be found at gomajors.com.
