NEW ALBANY, Miss. – The Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs faced off in an interstate matchup against Blue Mountain College on Saturday. The women's team was defeated 7-2, while the men's team was downed 9-0. Both teams will next play in their home opener against Huntingdon College and Belhaven University on Saturday, March 5.

Women's Recap: 2-7

In doubles action, Amelia Christy and Camille Fremaux outclassed their adversaries on Court 3 with an 8-4 victory. The duo of Kiana Everhart and Morris Kelly Clayton were able to claim a pair of games on Court 1, but were defeated 8-2. Clayton won a three-set thriller on Court 4 (6-7, 6-3, 10-8) to claim the first singles win of the season for the Majors. Mary Dabadie also dueled to an entertaining third set, but was ultimately defeated on Court 5 (6-4, 3-6, 10-8).

Men's Recap: 0-9

The teams of Jakub Bobinski / Brady St. Martin and Trevor Vaccaro / Hamilton Jackson were both competitive but ultimately fell 8-4 in their contests. Freshmen pair Sam Willard and Matthew Moore were bested by a score of 8-1 by their opponents. In singles action, Jackson won multiple games in both of his sets on Court 2. Bobinski and Moore also claimed multiple games in the second sets of each of their battles.
