KINGWOOD, Texas – The spring season got underway for the Millsaps men's golf program as the Majors battled in the DIII Lidlifter, Monday and Tuesday. The University of Texas at Dallas hosted seven total men's teams on the Lakes Course at the Clubs of Kingwood.
Junior
Gabe Brooks posted the top finish for the Majors, finishing ninth at 3-over par (73-74—147). Brooks' consistent play featured the fourth-most pars with 24.
Covering 6,933 yards on a par-72 course, the Majors finished fifth at 24-over in a competitive field of Texas squads.
Classmate
Krtin Udith made the biggest move for Millsaps between Round One and Two. After firing an even score on Tuesday, Udith catapulted from 26th to 13th (78-72—150).
Sophomore
Harrison Rhymes wasn't far behind after two days of competition, carding a 16th-place finish at 7-over (74-77—151).
Junior
Andrew Lovejoy along with Udith posted the most Millsaps birdies with six each. Lovejoy carded 11-over (79-76—155) to end the spring return in 26th. Also competing for the Majors was junior
Charlie Ellery (76-87—163).
The men's program will next compete in the Hal Sutton Invitational, hosted by Centenary College in Bossier City, La. Round One is slated for Monday, March 21 at The Golf Club at Stonebridge.
