Millsaps Tennis Opens Week-Long Matchups at Spring Break Tennis

Amelia Christy, Madison Williams and Vaccaro/Jackson Won on Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs opened Spring Break Tennis, a collection of teams and matches held over the next few weeks at the USTA National Campus Collegiate Center, on Sunday. The Millsaps women fell, 7-2 to NCAA Division II foe Northwood University, while the men were bested 8-1.

Women's Recap: 2-7

The Majors fell behind 3-0 in doubles action, but picked up a pair of tough wins in singles. Senior Amelia Christy earned a convincing 6-2, 6-2 triumph on Court 5. Sophomore Madison Williams won her second consecutive match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory on Court 6.

Juniors Trevor Vaccaro and Hamilton Jackson teamed up for a very impressive doubles dub on Court 1, powering through with an 8-6 win. Senior John Kimball gave a great fight on Singles Court 1. He narrowly lost set one, 7-5, but responded with a 6-3 win to tie the match before falling 6-4 in the third.
