ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association added several student-athletes to its list of All-Conference Honorable Mentions for men's and women's basketball following the 2021-22 season. Junior
Elecia Lartigue made the team on the women's side, while sophomore
Cameron Williams earned the honor for the men.
The pair joined senior
Andrea Rayford, who was
named to the All-SAA Second Team earlier.
Lartigue, a product of Houston, Texas, played in 12 games with 10 starts. Her impact was widely recognized by league coaches despite missing half of the season with an injury.
She led Millsaps at the free throw line at 76.5 percent (26-of-34). She also averaged the most assists per game with 40 total (3.33 apg). The Biology major would have finished second in the SAA for assists per game had she played in more games.
Additionally, Lartigue finished 41.6 percent from the floor (32-of-77), averaged 3.4 rebounds per contest, totaled 1.1 steals per game and finished third on the team with 7.7 points per game.
Williams, a native of New Orleans, La., led the men's program in scoring (12.6 ppg), rebounding (7.7 rpg), steals (24) and was second in assists (24). At the conference level, he finished fourth in rebounding, ninth in free throw percentage,10th in scoring and 11th in steals per game.
He finished 33.4 percent from the field and 68.7 percent from the charity stripe. Appearing in all 24 games with 20 starts, the Computer Science major paced the Majors with 26.7 minutes per contest.
Williams was also named to the All-SAA Second Team following the 2020-21 season as a freshman.
