IRVING, Texas – On Wednesday, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) revealed the members of the 2022 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college careers. An elite group of 1,559 players from 313 schools qualified for membership in the Society's 16th year.
Nominated by their respective schools, members of the NFF Hampshire Honor Society must have:
- Completed their final year of playing eligibility in Fall 2021;
o Graduated players, who have remaining eligibility but will not return to collegiate play (e.g. declared for NFL Draft or retired from football), may also be nominated.
- Attained a minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.2 (4.0 scale).
- Met all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress towards degree requirements.
- Been starters or significant contributors throughout the 2021 season.

Ryan Taix were honored for the accomplishments in the classroom and on the field.
Broussard of Lafayette, La., was second on the team with 62 total tackles, 32 of which were solo stops to pace the Majors in the fall. He totaled 3.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, one quarterback hurry, one sack, one forced fumble and one interception returned for a touchdown.
Hayes, who recently posted measurables at Jackson State's Pro Day, hauled in 12 catches for 216 yards. The Memphis, Tenn., native tallied three receiving touchdowns with a long reception of 70 yards.
Johnson, who made seven starts at right guard in seven appearances, was named the team's Juan Joseph Memorial Award recipient. The senior wore the number 11 in honor of Joseph and was a key leader both on the field and on campus.
Hailing from Kenner, La., Johnson was also nominated for the 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy which recognizes the nation's best player through academics, community service and on-field performance.
Ojonta, a Houston, Texas, native garnered 32 tackles (18 solo stops) to go with one interception and pass breakup.
A third defensive back on the list, Taix hauled in a team-high two interceptions and one interception returned for a touchdown. A product of Westwego, La., he added 32 tackles, 16 solo, four tackles for loss, three pass breakups, one quarterback hurry and one fumble recovery.
