JACKSON, Miss. – LeTourneau University downed the Millsaps men's soccer team, 4-0 at Harper Davis Field on Saturday night.
Millsaps held a 2-1 corner kick advantage and recorded less fouls (8-10), but fell behind in shot attempts (4-16).
The YellowJackets scored in the 30th, 41st, 80th and 85th minutes. Freshman goalkeeper
Michael Hamauei garnered four saves.
The Majors tallied their first corner kick in the fourth minute, but LeTourneau held tough. Also holding strong was Hamauei, who made three consecutive saves beginning in the 18th minute over a seven minute span. LeTourneau broke through with two late goals to end the first half ahead 2-0.
After a 35-minute lightning delay with 14 minutes remaining in the game, the YellowJackets added two more tallies to close the game.
Millsaps continues with its fourth match in its five-match homestand on Thursday. The Majors will host Pensacola Christian College at Harper Davis Field, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Live video and live stats will be provided at gomajors.com.
