JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps men's soccer team battled hard throughout against Fontbone University on Sunday, earning a 1-1 tie at Harper Davis Field.
Junior
Jacks Dowdy lead the game with an electric attack in the beginning of the first half, giving Millsaps a 1-0 advantage in the sixth minute. Classmate
Sebastiani Maraldo tallied an assist to put the Majors on the board.
The Griffins would go on to capitalize for their own score later in the half in the 42nd minute by
Joe Noah.
Both teams were evenly matched as the Majors and Griffins matched identical 8-8 tallies. Both goalies made four saves each including Millsaps freshman keeper
Michael Hamauei.
Dowdy led all players with three shot attempts and two on target. Maraldo, sophomore Kade
Folse and junior
Brandon Benn tallied a shot on goal.
The Majors will remain at home to face East Texas Baptist University on Thursday, beginning at 5 p.m.
