MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Millsaps men's and women's swimming and diving programs raced against tough competition, falling in a pair of dual meets at the SAC Natatorium on Saturday. A trio of Majors did post runner-up finishes against NCAA Division II Montevallo.
 
In the women's competition, the Falcons outscored Millsaps, 179-64, while the men were bested, 183-55.
 
Junior Kat Burns led the women's squad with a pair of runner-up showings. She finished second in the 50-yard breaststroke (32.81 seconds) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:10.87).
 
Freshman Bryn Waller was also second in the 50-yard freestyle. The Houston, Texas, native tallied a swift time of 26.62.
 
Senior Ginny Ray Clevenger posted the fastest counting time in the 200-yard IM (2:36.44), while junior Catherine Passarelli placed second in 2:50.99. The duo finished behind two non-counters from Montevallo.
 
Senior Madisyn Latino joined Burns, Clevenger and Waller on the 200-yard medley relay, placing second with a mark of 2:02.50. Burns and Waller were then accompanied by sophomores Abigail Hoffman and Zoe Cowell on the runner-up, 200-yard freestyle relay team (1:50.64).
 
Sophomore Ben Anderson was the sole runner-up swimmer for the men's team. He finished second in the 100-yard freestyle with a 49.17-second recording.
 
A pair of Majors also finished behind two non-counters for Montevallo in the men's 200-yard IM. Freshman Brian Ridner swam the quickest recorded time (2:15.43), while classmate Payton Jones was next (2:28.58).
 
The Majors will be back in action, hosting Centenary College at GRIT Training in Flowood, Miss. on Saturday, Oct. 28, beginning at 1 p.m.
