JACKSON, Miss. – The calendar might have turned to October, but Millsaps football junior punter
Ethan Klapatch continued his nation-leading, on-field success as he was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for the second consecutive week, the organization announced on Tuesday.
The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3football.com's weekly honor roll, currently in its 25th season of recognizing the top performance at each position from the previous week. Players are nominated by schools and selected via D3football.com.
The Metairie, La., product currently leads NCAA Division III in average yards per punt at 48.2 yards. He has already amassed 1,013 yards with 21 punts in four games.
Klapatch powered 10 punts a total of 459 yards (45.9-yard average) on Saturday. He added a long of 50 yards and placed two inside the Birmingham-Southern 20-yard line.
The two-time member of the All-SAA Honorable Mention Defensive Team was instrumental in controlling field position in Millsaps' 14-8 road win at BSC.
Last week, Klapatch also appeared on the D3football.com Team of the Week and was named the SAA Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week.
