MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Millsaps women's soccer team battled Berry College on Friday in an SAA matchup in a low-scoring affair, with the Vikings prevailing, 2-0.
Berry saw success going forward early on, generating three shots in the first 13 minutes of the match. Sophomore goalkeeper
Emily Lozano managed to save one of the shots and the other two went off-frame.
A goal was scored by Berry College in the 18th minute of the match by Kendall Varitek.
Berry player Nicole Knight would score their second goal of the match in the 29th minute. Knight was one of the key contributors for Berry as she finished the match with three total shots in 52 minutes of playing time.
Lozano, who was the standout player for the Majors, made a save in the 36th minute which was destined for the top-left corner. She would end the game with six total saves, keeping the Majors alive for much of the match.
The second half saw Millsaps freshman
Becca Quick generate a shot in the 57th minute, which went just wide of the net.
Lozano would make two more critical saves for the Majors in this half, one in the 58th and another in the 84th.
