Senior forward
Jacks Dowdy, sophomore goalkeeper
Michael Hamauei and graduate midfielder
Nicolas Nieto made the list following terrific campaigns.
Dowdy made his third appearance on the All-SAA Team, having been named Honorable Mention last season and to the 2020 Second Team, which was based off results during the spring of 2021.
The Hammond, La., native led the team with two assists, 41 shot attempts and 18 shots on goal. Dowdy also scored on Oct. 6 at Berry. Both of his assists were registered in a 2-0 win over Tougaloo on Sept. 26. Following four seasons, Dowdy has totaled 12 goals and six assists.
Dowdy is currently tied for fifth in the SAA with his 18 shots on target and is fifth with 41 attempts. He also ranks seventh in shots per match (2.41) after starting in all 17 matches.
Hamauei started all 17 matches as well, while leading the conference with 101 saves and 5.94 saves per match.
He recorded a five-save shutout in the same 2-0 win over Tougaloo. Hamauei was outstanding, tallying a career-high 15 saves in a 2-2 draw at East Texas Baptist on Sept. 7 as well as a 12-save performance in a 1-1 tie at MUW on Oct. 24.
The Shreveport, La., native also netted All-SAA Honorable Mention status a season ago.
Nieto covered much of the field offensively and defensively for Majors, finishing tied with a team-best two goals. He added nine shot attempts and connected with three shots on goal.
The Girardot, Columbia, product was clutch with both his goals being scored in 1-1 draws off penalty kicks (versus Schreiner – Sept. 3; at MUW – Oct. 24). Nieto started 11 matches with 12 appearances.
