ATLANTA – The Millsaps women's soccer duo of sophomore
Ally Hearn and graduate
Mary Ranager were named to the 2023 All-SAA Women's Soccer Team, the Southern Athletic Association office announced on Wednesday.
The pair secured All-SAA Honorable Mention status, which was the third such honor for Ranager in her collegiate career.
Hearn was a lockdown defender who forced coaches to adjust their game plans throughout the season. She appeared in all 17 matches, with 16 starts.
Offensively she scored her first collegiate goal on Oct. 10 against Belhaven. Hearn, hailing from Tampa, Fla., ended with seven shot attempts and placed five on target.
Ranger, a product of Vicksburg, Miss., previously earned All-SAA Honorable Mention recognition last season as well as the 2020 season played in Spring 2021.
She started all 17 matches for the Majors in 2023 and was second on the team with two goals. Ranager was also second with 22 shot attempts and third with nine on-target attempts.
Ranager netted both of her goals in a 3-0 shutout win over Huntingdon to begin the 2023 regular-season campaign on Sept. 1.
