JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps baseball team will look to build off their momentum from last season's SAA postseason run, announcing a challenging 2024 schedule on Friday.
The Majors varsity squad will begin action on Feb. 9-10 against LeTourneau in Longview, Texas. After two days of baseball competition, the Majors will return to Twenty Field to face Huntingdon in the home opener on Tuesday, Feb. 13, beginning at 4 p.m.
The Majors remain at home the following week as they welcome Edgewood for a three-game series, Feb. 16-18.
Continuing the 2024 schedule, the Majors will then host in-state foe MUW for nine innings on Feb. 20. Millsaps completes its nine-game home stand against Westminster, Feb. 23-24 and Castleton on Feb. 26.
The Majors look to remain focused on the road against Edgewood (March 1), Middlebury (March 2) and Huntingdon (March 3) in Montgomery, Ala.
On March 5, Millsaps plays host to cross-street rivals Belhaven in Game One of the Cowboy Maloney Series, beginning at 6 p.m. The Majors open conference play against Rhodes at home, March 8-9.
Millsaps will spend next weekend at Hendrix, March 15-16 before returning for Game Two of the Cowboy Maloney Series against Belhaven on March 20.
The Majors then proceed back into conference play against Sewanee at Twenty Field, March 23-24 and travel to play Oglethorpe, March 29-30.
The Cowboy Maloney Series concludes at home on Tuesday, April 2 with a 6 p.m. first pitch against the Blazers.
A steady stretch of home games continues against Centre, April 6-7 and Berry, April 13-14.
On April 16, the Majors finalize their non-conference slate at MUW before concluding the regular season at Birmingham-Southern, April 19-20.
Postseason play will feature Opening Round Pods, April 26-27 at conference sites with the winners advancing to the SAA Championship Series, May 2-4. Locations and matchups will be based on conference standing.
