JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps women's basketball team tallied a pair of wins over the weekend inside the Hangar Dome outlasting Hendrix, 58-54 on Friday as well as downing Rhodes, 64-49 during Senior Day on Sunday.
Game 1: Millsaps 58, Hendrix 54
Junior
DeZarae Stewart shined with 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting in Friday's win. She added three assists and three rebounds. Senior
Megan Bickmann tallied 10 points, a steal, an assist and a rebound, while sophomore
Haley Franklin recorded nine points, 10 rebounds and an assist.
Teammate
Whitney Novak was an all-around force with nine points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block.
The Majors outshot Hendrix 42.6 percent (20-47) to 29.7 percent (19-64) and outscored the bench, 30-17. The Warriors stayed in the game by forcing 23 turnovers and tallied a 24-13 points-off-turnover advantage.
Hendrix struggled in the first quarter as they were held to 3-of-14 from the floor. Bickmann closed the opening stanza with a three-pointer to give Millsaps an early 20-10 lead.
The visitors would battle back in the second quarter to hold a narrow 27-26 margin at halftime. Millsaps would then rally in the third with a 14-3 run following a Stewart jumper in the paint.
The back-and-forth battle continued as the Warriors tied the game at 48-48 with a three-pointer early in the fourth quarter.
Millsaps would respond to build a 55-48 advantage with three minutes to play punctuated by a Novak layup.
Hendrix continued to fight and made it a 57-54 deficit with a chance to tie the game with under 20 seconds to play, but Franklin grabbed a huge rebound and Novak iced the win with a free-throw make.
Game 2: Millsaps 64, Rhodes 49
Millsaps (17-7, 8-5 SAA) was terrific defensively on Senior Day to sweep the weekend. The Majors held Rhodes to 24.2 percent (15-62) and 10.5 percent from three-point range (2-19) on Sunday. Seniors

Mikenzi Laster and Emily Sims were honored before the game.
Franklin tallied her ninth 20-point game and third double–double of the season with 26 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
Freshman
Elyse Warren was also strong with her fourth double-double of the season (16 points, 10 rebounds, one steal).
The Majors led 12-11 after the first quarter and caught fire to race ahead 31-21 by halftime. Millsaps would build a 17-point advantage in the third quarter and comfortably claim a crucial Senior Day triumph.
