Majors Return Home from Four-Game Road Trip to Host Hendrix on Friday

ATLANTA – The Millsaps men's basketball team faced an opponent who seemingly couldn't miss early from three-point range, falling 86-65 to Oglethorpe inside Dorough Field House on Sunday.

Junior Aaron Ursin (four rebounds, one block, one steal) tallied 12 points, while freshman Rodney Phillips Jr. added 11 points, five rebounds and a steal. Classmate Dakota Gasca chipped in eight points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Millsaps posted a 46-26 points in the paint advantage, but Oglethorpe tallied a 14-2 three-point make difference. The Stormy Petrels outshot the Majors 43.8 percent (28-of-64) to 33.3 percent (25-of-75).

Ursin scored the first eight points for the Majors on four consecutive shot attempts, giving Millsaps an early 4-0 and 8-6 advantage. Oglethorpe responded with eight three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes to build a 48-32 cushion.

The second half was played fairly evenly, but the Stormy Petrels were able take home an 86-65 conference win.
