GREENSBORO, N.C. – The decorated collegiate athletic career ended on a positive wave for Millsaps swimming and diving graduate Bryan Sullivan at the 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday.

He established a new Southern Athletic Association record and earned Honorable Mention All-America status in the men's 100-yard breaststroke inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Sullivan swam an eye-popping, record-setting time of 54.80 seconds, finishing 13th in the prelims. He bettered the previous conference mark of 54.97 set by Birmingham-Southern's Duncan Bonney. Sullivan also smashed his Millsaps program record of 55.43 established at the Delta State Invitational in November. Sullivan entered the meet ranked 23rd of NCAA qualifiers in the event, moving up 10 positions in a field of 35 total student-athletes.

He then competed in his final race as a Major, finishing eighth in the B Final to place 16th overall with a mark of 56.40 seconds.

The MBA student concludes the 2023 NCAA Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships with an All-America finish in the 100-yard butterfly (seventh, 47.92), Honorable Mention All-American with his placement in the 100-yard breaststroke and was a B Final qualifier in the 50-yard freestyle.

The Jackson Prep alum ends his illustrious collegiate career with three NCAA meet qualifications, including two with the Majors. Sullivan is the first All-American in the four-year history of the Millsaps swimming and diving program.

Additionally, the Neuroscience Millsaps graduate is a two-time SAA Men's Swimmer of the Year, the 2021-22 SAA Men's Co-Newcomer of the Year, a 2022 CSCAA Scholar All-American, a multiple First Team All-SAA member, the 2021-22 Paul Benton Award Winner as the Millsaps men's top student-athlete as a senior and was named SAA Men's Swimmer of the Week six times.

After transferring from Drury University and in only two seasons at Millsaps, he set six SAA open records, three SAA meet records, holds nine individual school marks and was a member of four program relay top times.

Millsaps is ranked 25th in the team competition with one day remaining of the championships after totaling 12 points in the 100-yard butterfly and a point in the 100-yard breaststroke.
