MT. BERRY, Ga. – The No. 4 seed Millsaps softball team split a pair of contests with No. 5 seed Sewanee and No.1 seed Berry in the Berry Pod of the SAA Tournament on Saturday.
The Majors played well getting the victory against the Tigers, 3-1 before hanging tough with No. 2 nationally ranked Berry, falling 12-2. Embracing their accomplishments after the games were seniors

Game 1 vs. Sewanee: 3-1, W

Katie Norris posted a 2-4 day at the plate. Both senior

Alli Nolen recorded an RBI.

Delta Claire Newman threw a seven-inning, complete-game gem. She struck out three, while allowing one run, one walk and eight hits.
The Majors started off strong in the outfield as Perry made back-to-back catches in the second inning. Millsaps would break the scoreless draw in the fourth inning when Fleming singled to center field, scoring Norris.
The Tigers would answer back in the bottom of the fifth inning with a bases-loaded run.
Needing to break through to extend the season, Perry delivered by forcing a fielding error and bring around junior
Brianna Newman in the seventh. A couple batters later Nolen gave Millsaps a 3-1 advantage by platting junior
Camille Black with an RBI to right field.
Newman forced back-to-back flyouts to end a Sewanee comeback opportunity in the bottom of the seventh and give Millsaps a 3-1 win.
Game 2 at Berry: 12-2 (6 inn.), L
Nolen batted 2-3 with one RBI in the second game of the day. Fleming walked twice and Perry added an RBI.
The Vikings opened the first inning with an early 2-0 lead. Berry would score three in the second, one in the third and two in the fifth to build an 8-0 cushion.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Majors would answer back with a powerful hit from Perry, assisting Clark home with the bases loaded.
Nolen would extend the run later in the inning with a single, bringing Fleming home safely. The Vikings would tally four runs in the sixth pushing the lead to 12-2. Berry would end the contest in the bottom of the same frame.
