JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps volleyball program prepares for an exciting 2023 calendar with 28 regular-season opponents, including 11 matchups inside the Hangar Dome, the Millsaps College Athletics Department announced on Friday.
The Majors will open serve with a pair of exhibitions at Northwest Mississippi Community College (Aug. 23) before hosting Tougaloo College (Aug. 26).
The regular season begins with seven matches on the road in a pair of invitationals. Millsaps will face host Centenary, Texas A&M–Texarkana, McMurry and Howard Payne in the Centenary Invitational, Sept. 1-2.
Texas teams will continue to offer a test as the Majors square off with three Lone Star foes at the ETBU Classic, Sept. 8-9. Millsaps will battle the University of Dallas, Hardin-Simmons and the University of St. Thomas in Marshall.
The Majors will then host the five-match Millsaps Invitational inside the Hangar Dome, Sept. 15-16. Belhaven will offer a challenge on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. The following day will feature host matchups against Huntingdon (10 a.m.) and a rematch with the University of Dallas (2 p.m.).
Southern Athletic Association matches begin at Birmingham-Southern on Wednesday, Sept. 20. The Majors conclude the week with a home circuit, facing Hendrix (Sept. 23) and Rhodes (Sept. 24).
After a pair of Georgia road matches, the Majors contend with Birmingham-Southern (Oct. 4), Centre (Oct. 7) and Sewanee (Oct. 8) in Jackson.
Millsaps embarks back on the road with four conference pairings in mid-October. The team is then scheduled to host a trio of Peach State foes in Berry (Oct. 27), Covenant (Oct. 27) and Oglethorpe (Oct. 28) in its final regular-season home contests.
The Majors shift gears in preparation for the SAA Tournament with three road matches at Belhaven (Nov. 1) and against the University of Dallas and Austin College in Irving, Texas on Nov. 4.
SAA Tournament action follows at the highest seed, Nov. 10-12.
