LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Millsaps volleyball program earned 2023 USMC-AVCA Team Academic Award recognition following its hard work and dedication on the court and inside the classroom, announced by the United States Marine Corps and American Volleyball Coaches Association on Thursday.
 
A record number of 1,333 high school and collegiate teams maintained a year-long GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale. The award dates back to 1992-93.
 
Millsaps has not been shy of this honor. The program has been recognized the last four years as well as five of the last six seasons. More details and a full list of award-winning programs can be found here.
 
The Majors begin the 2023 season with a pair of exhibition matches at Northwest Mississippi Community College (Aug. 23) before hosting crosstown foe Tougaloo College (Aug. 26). The regular season begins in Shreveport, La., on Sept. 1, while the home calendar begins inside the Hangar Dome on Sept. 15.
