JACKSON, Miss. – The Millsaps volleyball team looked unstoppable as they sliced past Belhaven in three sets (25-8, 25-14, 25-16) inside the Hangar Dome on Friday.
The Majors played well as a team, tallying a 29-9 assist advantage and a 34-11 kills margin 33-11. Millsaps (4-4) used a 10-1 mark in aces to power its success as well.

Anna Capezzera recorded 14 kills and six digs, while classmate
Zoe Elder tallied 25 assists, nine digs, three kills and three block assists. Senior
Margaret Richardson led the match with 14 digs.
The Majors opened the first set out front, 6-1. The Blazers continued struggling in the early going with several attack errors and could not respond to a flurry of Millsaps kills.
Belhaven fell behind even more after a 7-0 Major run, which grew the lead to 16-4. Millsaps would cruise to a 25-8 win in set one.
Second set was a closer battle as the Majors took an early 8-7 lead. Midway through the set and trailing 16-13, the Blazers struggled again to adjust to the Major attack and allowed the next eight points to end the second set, 25-14.
Set three saw the Majors keep the Blazers at bay each time the match tighten up. Capezzera used three consecutive kills to build the 15-11 edge, up to 20-11. Belhaven would get closer, but three straight attack errors followed later by a service error gave the Majors the victory at 25-16.
The Millsaps Invitational continues as the Majors face off in duo of matches against Huntingdon at 10 a.m. and the University of Dallas at 2 p.m. Live video and live stats is available for all matches.
