Match 1: Huntingdon 1, Millsaps 0

Millsaps fell to the Hawks in a narrow 1-0 decision at Harper Davis Field on Wednesday.

The match saw both sides manage lots of shots with the Majors registering a 14-10 advantage. Millsaps held a 6-3 advantage in on-target attempts and corner kicks.

Sophomore goalkeeper Michael Hamauei made two saves, while freshman Ethan Pratt added four shot attempts with three on net. Senior Jacks Dowdy fired six shots at goal, including two on target.

The match started slow, with neither team generating much offense early on. Dowdy had a shot in the 14th minute which narrowly went left of goal.

Huntington finally succeeded scoring in the 18th minute. Liam Kearns scored off a deflection which found the back of the right side of the net.

The beginning of the second half saw the Majors manage several opportunities. Freshman Ethan Pratt and Dowdy both had one-on-one chances with the keeper, but both were saved.

With four minutes left, the Majors had a free kick directly outside the penalty area, but were unable to convert.
