SHREVEPORT, La. – The Millsaps women's soccer team earned a hard-fought, 0-0 draw with 13 available field players at Centenary College's Mayo Field on Sunday.
The match featured 25 total shot attempts with both teams managing four shots on target. The Majors had four fouls and Centenary tallied six, though only a single yellow card was handed out for the home team. The Ladies posted a 7-2 corner kick edge.
The Majors were anchored by sophomore
Alexa Dubrow who had three total shots, two of which were on frame.
Alex Bremond,
Ana Cuesta,
Riley Ely,
Ally Hearn and
Mary Ranager also were able to generate one shot a piece.
In goal for the Majors was sophomore
Emily Lozano, who managed to make four saves in her clean-sheet performance. The shutout was her second of the season.
The Majors were hard-pressed towards the end of the game, with Centenary generating four corner kicks and three shots in the last ten minutes of regulation time. The Majors remained stout in the defensive third, succeeding in not conceding a goal.
Millsaps next faces off against Rhodes at Harper Davis Field this Friday in their first conference matchup and look to start off strong. The match is set for 7:30 p.m. with live video and stats available at gomajors.com.
