MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Millsaps women's soccer team faced off against Huntingdon and registered a 1-1 tie on Tuesday at Samford Soccer Complex in Montgomery, Ala.
Rising freshman
Alex Bremond scored late in the second half to pull the Majors even. Both Bremond and sophomore
Alexa Dubrow generated four shots on goal, while freshman
Mollie Spradley added three shot attempts. Junior goalkeeper
Isabella Locke stopped three shots.
The Majors outshot the Hawks 15-7, generating an impressive 13 shots on frame to Huntington's four. The Huntingdon keeper, Libby Williams, was forced to make 12 saves in this match, keeping her team alive.
Huntingdon lit up the scoreboard quickly, managing to score in the fifth minute of the match. The goal was scored by Anaely Almeida and assisted by Joslyn Dahlberg. Almeida would finish the match with two shots on frame.
The Majors had several opportunities to score, many of which were stopped by the Huntington keeper.
Millsaps finally broke through in the 71st minute when Bremond converted a penalty kick. The goal was her second of the season.
The Majors would look for the win by producing three further shot attempts, but Huntingdon held on for a 1-1 draw.
