JACKSON, Miss.
– The Millsaps men's soccer team battled Schreiner to a 1-1 draw, facing hot temperatures at Harper Davis Field on Sunday.

Michael Hamauei was in the hot zone posting with six saves, while graduate
Nicolas Nieto scored on a penalty kick in 90 minutes of action. The Mountaineers held a 14-2 edge in shot attempts.
Schreiner (0-1-1) converted their third shot try of the match in the 21st minute off a curving shot that snuck inside the right post.
Millsaps (0-1-1) found a chance in the box, which resulted in a foul and an ensuing penalty kick. Nieto would score into the right side of the goal, tying the game at 1-1.
Nieto would take his last shot attempt in the 66th minute as the Mountaineers continued to press for the majority of chances.
Hamauei saw the last shot sail over the top of the crossbar in the closing seconds and would see the Majors secure a 1-1 draw.
Men's soccer will travel to the Lone Star Texas to face off against East Texas Baptist University, beginning at 5 p.m. on Thursday. Sept. 7. Live video and live stats will be available for the match at gomajors.com.
