ATLANTA – Millsaps women's volleyball junior right side and outside hitter Anna Capezzera posted a sensational weekend at the Country Cajun Classic in Shreveport, La. Her efforts were recognized by the Southern Athletic Association as the inaugural SAA Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
 
The recognition was previously known as the SAA Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. Capezzera was named to the Country Cajun Classic All-Tournament Team after tallying 69 kills, 50 digs, 10 assists, six blocks, five aces and a .222 hitting percentage in four matches, Sept. 1-2. She tallied three matches of 18 kills – all a new career-high.
 
On Friday, Millsaps fell to host Centenary (3-1) before besting Texas A&M-Texarkana (3-1). The Majors then downed McMurry (3-1) and narrowly fell to Howard Payne (3-2) on Saturday.

The Jacksonville, Fla., native posted 18 kills, 12 digs, three assists, three blocks and two aces against host Centenary. She then followed with 15 kills, seven digs, three assists and one block versus TAMUT on Friday.
 
On Saturday, the Communications major generated 18 kills, 15 digs, two blocks, two aces and one assist against McMurry. Battling Howard Payne in the final match of the weekend, Capezerra again accumulated 18 kills, while adding three assists, an ace and a career-best 16 digs.
 
The Majors will now compete in the ETBU Classic in Marshall, Texas to face the University of Dallas, Hardin Simmons and University of St. Thomas, Friday and Saturday. Millsaps battles Dallas first, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8.
