SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Millsaps men's soccer team fell to Sewanee, 4-0 in a Southern Athletic Association road game at Puett Field on Friday Night.
Junior Sam Cagle recorded two shot attempts and one shot on goal, while classmate
Hogan Payne posted one shot on frame.
Sewanee (3-5-4, 1-1-1 SAA) took a 14-2 shots-on-target advantage over the Majors and 8-1 edge in corner kicks.

Michael Hamauei tied a season-high of 10 saves against the Tigers. The 10 saves matched his total at Rhodes on Sept. 28, leading to him being named the SAA Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week.
Millsaps (2-7-2, 0-3 SAA) and Sewanee both totaled three yellow cards in the conference matchup.
Sewanee claimed an early advantage in the 12th minute of the first half following a kick to the lower right side of the net to move ahead, 1-0.
In the 16th minute, the Tigers would attempt a shot in the bottom of the box, but Hamauei would come down with the save.
Sewanee would move forward, 2-0 in the 20th minute after benefiting from a loose ball close to goal.
Payne would narrowly miss a kick five minutes later as Sewanee would come down with the stop.
The Tigers would close out the first half with a corner kick, but Hamauei would collect another save into his gloves. Sewanee would go into halftime still leading, 2-0.
Cagle connected on corner opportunity in the 57th minute of action. However, his shot went just out right of goal.
In the 64th minute, Hamauei would draw back in another save, but 36 seconds later Sewanee tallied their third score of the match.
Cagle would almost secure the first goal for the Majors in the 66th minute, but would see the Tigers make another stop.
The Tigers would build a 4-0 lead in the 80th minute by tapping a kick inside the goal post.
In the 85th minute, Hamauei would corral two consecutive shots and one more in the 89th minute of play. Sewanee would secure a 4-0 victory at Puett Field on Friday night.
Millsaps remains on the road and will face Centre College on Sunday, beginning at 12 p.m. CT. Live video and live stats will be available at gomajors.com.
