AUSTIN, Texas – The Millsaps men's and women's soccer programs tallied five student-athletes on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, the CSC announced on Tuesday.
Junior Michael Hamauei represented the men's team, while the women's squad had four total recipients for this honor in senior Chloee Beebe, junior Haley James and sophomores Alex Bremond and Becca Quick.
Hamauei tallied a Southern Athletic Association-best 77 saves for the Majors along with a 1.95 goals-against average. His cumulative GPA entering the Fall 2024 semester was 3.583.
Beebe had two points on the year with her one goal helping Millsaps dispatch Tougaloo College on Sept. 15. Her cumulative GPA coming into the semester was a stellar 3.801.
James tallied an assist along with five shots on goal during this season. The midfielder from Laurel, Miss., registered a 3.59 GPA in the Spring after transferring from Jones College.
Bremond had an amazing all-around year for the Majors, reaching All-SAA Honorable Mention status. She produced 18 total points on the year with six goals and six assists. Bremond began the Fall semester with an amazing 3.876 GPA.
Quick had one goal and one assist this season for the Majors. The sophomore's cumulative GPA stood at 3.50 beginning the Fall term.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Dec. 10 (men) and Dec. 11 (women).
An undergraduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). A graduate student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as both an undergraduate and a grad student unless they are in their first semester as a graduate student and don't have an established graduate GPA.
Additionally, student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games/contests played OR must start in at least 66 percent of the games/contests.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
