CANTON, Ga. – The Millsaps volleyball program continued its impressive close of the Southern Athletic Association schedule and were recognized by league coaches on Monday. Junior
Ally Baer was voted the SAA Volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week, while sophomore
Sandy Bourgeois was selected the SAA Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week.
The double recognition marks the first time in program history the Majors have swept both the weekly offensive and defensive plaudits since the SAA's inception in 2012.
Baer earned her second SAA weekly offensive honor of the season in three weeks after helping the Majors secure a road sweep of Rhodes on Saturday and a five-set triumph at Hendrix on Sunday.
The Pace, Fla., product totaled 24 kills, 11 blocks, five aces and four digs, while committing just two errors after hitting .400. Baer established a new career-best nine blocks against the Lynx before powering home 13 kills against the Warriors.
Bourgeois continued her impressive work at libero, totaling 44 digs, five assists and a pair of aces. She dug 17 attacks in three sets against Rhodes before providing 27 crucial digs in five sets at Hendrix. The Luling, La., native has helped the Majors rank sixth out of 417 NCAA Division III programs at 20.01 digs per set.

Anna Capezzera also garnered SAA Offensive Athlete of the Week recognition.
Millsaps volleyball will next travel to nearby Belhaven University in Jackson and conclude the regular season on Friday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Live video and live stats will be provided at gomajors.com.
The 2024 SAA Volleyball Championship will then be hosted by No. 1 seed Centre College in Danville, Ky., Nov. 15-17, with Millsaps (21-5, 8-4 SAA) entering the bracket as the No. 3 seed.
