Women’s Soccer Draws 2-2 with LeTourneau on Tuesday

Suzanna Busbee Scores Twice in Even Matchup

JACKSON, Miss.  The Millsaps women's soccer team took home a 2-2 draw against LeTourneau University at Harper Davis Field on Tuesday.

Freshman Suzanna Busbee collected a pair of goals and junior Emily Lozano made six saves. Sophomores Alex Bremond and Mollie Spradley along with senior Ana Cuesta added assists.

Both Busbee and Bremond recorded five shot attempts with four on target.

LeTourneau outshot the Majors, 14-11 but the teams were even with eight shots on net each. Millsaps led, 4-2 on corner kicks.

Busbee put the Majors on top early in the first half following a goal scored off her right foot assisted by Bremond in the 15th minute of the match.

The YellowJackets would look to draw the match only 30 seconds later. However, Lozano would come down with the ball on a goalkeeper save.

LeTourneau finally got their luck at the 22nd minute of the first half with a kick to the low-left side of the goal to even the match at 1-1.

Bremond would try to put the Majors back on top with one minute left in the first half, but would see a LeTourneau goalkeeper save as both teams would go into halftime still knotted up.

In the second half, Busbee would secure her third collegiate goal at the 56th minute of play with a kick to the lower right side. Spradley would send the ball across and it would deflect off of Cuesta and land right to Busbee, who deposited it into the back of the net.

The YellowJackets would answer in the 86th minute on a free kick from about 20 yards out with a shot high left into the goal to tie the match at 2-2.

Millsaps would end the match in a draw and will be back in action at Harper Davis Field on Friday. The Majors host the University of the Ozarks at 5 p.m. with live video and live stats at gomajors.com.
