SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The Millsaps women's soccer team was defeated by conference opponent Trinity University, 10-0 on Sunday at McGinlay Field.
Senior
Emily Lozano recorded seven saves during the match, playing 63 minutes in goal. Freshman
Keila Torres added six saves in her 26 minutes of play, contributing defensively for the team. Classmate
Hope Monk had one shot, which was on target against the Tigers.
The first half began with Lozano making two saves in the opening minutes against Trinity's early attacks.
Despite Lozano's strong efforts, the Tigers quickly established dominance by scoring twice in the fifth and eighth minutes to take a 2-0 lead over the Majors.
The Tigers continued their offensive assault throughout the first half, adding five more goals to build a commanding 7-0 advantage by halftime.
Trinity maintained their momentum in the second half, scoring three additional goals to complete a decisive 10-0 victory over the Majors on Sunday.
Millsaps will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 31, hosting Rhodes College for Senior Day at Harper Davis Field, beginning at 5 p.m. Live video and live stats will be available at gomajors.com. Senior Day festivities will begin at 4:40 p.m. prior to kickoff.
