FLOWOOD, Miss.
– The Millsaps men's swimming and diving team continued their season as they hosted a tri-meet with conference opponent Rhodes alongside Meridian Community College on Saturday.
Junior
Payton Jones provided a boost for the Majors, finishing second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:03.81 and claimed first in the 400-yard IM, finishing in 5:17.99. Jones' 1000-yard free was a season-best time, concluding his laps inside GRIT Training in Flowood.
Senior
Jackson Van Meter finished third in the 50-yard butterfly at 28.68 and came in fourth place in both the 50-yard free (24.14) and 100-yard free (55.70).
Classmate
Kaiden Auzenne also contributed a solid effort for the Majors competing in multiple events as well. Auzenne finished third in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 28.74. He also came in fifth in the 50-yard free just behind his teammate Van Meter with a time of 24.19. He finished off his weekend coming in sixth place in the 100-yard free at a time of 59.61.
Millsaps bested Meridian Community College, 65-40, while Rhodes bested the Majors, 158-27 in the men's competition.
The Majors are back in action, Nov. 20-23 for the Delta State Thanksgiving Invite in Cleveland, Miss.
