JACKSON, Miss. – An anticipated new era begins for the Millsaps College women's soccer program and the team now knows its next set of opponents after the announcing of the 2025 fall schedule on Wednesday.
Matches kick off with a trio of exhibitions against Mississippi junior colleges. The Majors will travel to nearby Decatur, Miss. and face East Central Community College (Aug. 16) before hosting Holmes Community College (Aug. 20) and East Mississippi Community College (Aug. 26).
The regular-season opener follows with Millsaps hosting McMurry University on Saturday, Aug. 30.
A five-match road swing is then on deck beginning with a trip to Montgomery, Ala. and a matchup with Huntingdon College (Sept. 3). The Majors head west to Longview, Texas to battle with LeTourneau University (Sept. 6) right after.
Millsaps follows up by facing former Southern Athletic Association (SAA) foe Hendrix College in Arkansas on Sept. 12. The road trip concludes with matches at the University of the Ozarks (Sept. 14) and Centenary College (Sept. 19).
The Majors then host seven consecutive contests from the end of September through the middle of October. After returning from Louisiana, the squad first welcomes Austin College to Harper Davis Field on Sept. 21.
Jackson-metro area foe of Tougaloo College then competes against the Majors on Sept. 24. The week concludes with visiting Piedmont University in Jackson on Sunday, Sept. 28.
SAA action opens up with a trio of matches at Harper Davis Field, including Centre College (Oct. 3), Sewanee (Oct. 5) and Berry College (Oct. 11).
The homestand concludes with the annual Riverside Derby against cross-street rival Belhaven University. The final non-conference contest is set for 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14.
A set of three road contests is next with a trip to Oglethorpe University in Atlanta (Oct. 18) and back-to-back battles in Texas. Southwestern University and Trinity University join the SAA across all sports and host the Majors on Oct. 24 in Georgetown and Oct. 26 in San Antonio, respectively.
The regular-season finale brings the Majors back home to host Rhodes College on Oct. 31.
A total of six out of eight schools will qualify for the 2025 SAA Women's Soccer Championship, which will be hosted by Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn. The top two seeds will earn a bye, while the No. 3 seed faces the No. 6 seed and the No. 4 and No. 5 seeds both battle on Thursday, Nov. 6.
The semifinals will take place the next day on Friday preceding the championship match on Sunday, Nov. 9.
