UNION GROVE, Ala. — The Millsaps College men's and women's golf programs teed off the 2025 Fall season on a strong note at the Roger Lundy Alabama Invasion. Hosted by Spalding University, the men's team finished fourth among NCAA Division III institutions, while senior Abigail Cerwick secured second place for the women at Cherokee Ridge Country Club on Friday.
On Saturday, the third round was canceled due to thunderstorms.
The men's team delivered a strong performance (317-311—628) with a plus-52 to complete two rounds on the green.
Senior Steven Noack (81-73—154) led the Majors, tying for an impressive ninth place out of 37 collegiate golfers. He posted both two-rounds and 72-hole personal bests as a Major.
Sophomore Charlie Berglund (79-76—155) was also strong at the Roger Lundy Alabama Invasion, competing as an individual. The Falun, Sweden, native tied for 13th place on the green. He finished round one with a plus-7 and round two with a plus-4.
Junior Julius Kroell (78-80—158) tied for 19th place on the course. Kroell recorded a plus-6 in round one and a plus-8 in round two.
Classmate Jason Howe (79-80—159) impressive swinging form tied for 23rd place, as he excelled in round one with a plus-7 and followed it with a plus-8 in round two. He was one stroke back of Kroell and completed the Millsaps scoring.
Freshman William Jeonsson (79-84—163) and sophomore Miles Harrison (85-78—163) both made their names noticeable, tying for 23rd place with a total of plus-19.
Jeonsson finished round one at plus-7 and round two at plus-12; Harrison completed round one at plus-13 and round two at plus-6.
Representing the Majors well on the women's side, Cerwick (94-94—188) finished second in the Roger Lundy Alabama Invasion with a total of plus-44. She completed both rounds on the course with a plus-22.
The Millsaps men's golf program will return to action at the Rhodes Fall Invitational, Sept. 21-22, while the women will compete at the Scots Fall Invitational, Sept. 29-30.
