MINNEAPOLIS – Recognition for Millsaps women's basketball center
Elyse Warren reached the national level as she was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week after helping power the Majors to four recent victories. The latest edition of the Team of the Week honored student-athletes for their efforts during games spanning Monday, Dec. 15 through Sunday, Jan. 4.
Most recently, Warren set the program and SAA single-game rebounding record with 33 boards in a 55-36 triumph at Rhodes on Saturday. Her rebounding total ranks most across NCAA Division III student-athletes this season and is tied for the most in DIII since Dec. 2018. Warren also tied a career-high 24 points to go along with two steals and an assist against the Lynx.
The Memphis, Tenn., native averaged 21 rebounds and 18 points after posting additional double-doubles against Austin College (Dec. 17), LeTourneau (Dec. 18) and Ozarks (Dec. 30). She finished connecting on 51 percent of her field goals (27-of-53) in the four total wins.
Warren was also named the
Southern Athletic Association Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week on Monday for the third time this season. She becomes the seventh Major in program history to be announced as part of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.
