CANTON, Ga. — A pair of Millsaps College baseball standouts in freshman
Dylon Lozano and sophomore
Wesley Grant were voted the Southern Athletic Association's Pitcher and Athlete of the Week, respectively on Monday.
Lozano pitched well in relief, helping keep the Majors alive and eventually top LeTourneau, 5-4 in 10 inning on Friday. Lozano tossed 4.0 innings, facing 12 batters and striking out four YellowJackets. He only yielded one hit and one run against three walks in first collegiate appearance.
Grant finished the three-game series with a .444 batting average (4-for-9), 1.000 slugging percentage and .583 on-base percentage. He posted two triples, a double, two RBIs, scored three runs, and stole a base. He tripled in the top of the 10th on Friday to eventually score the game-winning run in the 5-4 triumph.
The Majors will next host Edgewood University for a three-game slate. The series is set to begin Friday at 3 p.m. Live video and live stats will be provided at gomajors.com.
