ROME & ATLANTA, Ga. — The Millsaps men's and women's tennis programs traveled to Georgia for their first conference road trip of season. Both teams fell to Berry College on Saturday before the women posted a 5-2 dominate performance at Oglethorpe University on Sunday.

Women's Recap at Berry, 7-0, L

The Majors faced off with Berry on Saturday, where they unfortunately fell 7-0 in the match.

In the match, sophomore Malakie Smith gave her all as she lost her singles match in a battle that had tiebreakers in sets 2 and 3, that ultimately needed extra games in the last set to decide a winner, 4-6, 7-6 (8-6), 1-0 (12-10).

Women's Recap at Oglethorpe University, 5-2, W

The women's tennis team finished their weekend strong with a great win over Oglethorpe on Sunday.

In doubles, sophomore Skylar Spinks with Smith got the job done in relatively simple fashion with a 6-2 victory. Freshman Bella-Bennett Graham and sophomore Virginia Trible were able to secure the doubles points with a thrilling 7-6 (7-1) tiebreaker.

Then in singles, the Majors continued to play well as Spinks and sophomore Riley McClain both won their matches in two straight sets by an overall score of 12-2. Smith also won, 6-2, 6-1, while Graham triumphed, 6-3, 6-3.

The Majors made the trip over to Georgia this weekend where they started against some tough competition in Berry College.

Senior Sam Tuli was able to continue his great season where he picked up the Majors only point in a match where he looked great, winning by a combined score of 12-4.

The Majors finished up their trip this weekend in Atlanta where they dropped another tough one against Oglethorpe.

Freshman Jon Nguyen had a great outing in singles where he won his match in two sets, 6-4, 6-2.
