Major Duo Named to 2025-26 NCAA Division III Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars Team

Julius Kroell, Charlie Berglund Exemplify Academic Excellence

NORMAN, Okla. – Rising senior Julius Kroell and rising junior Charlie Berglund from the Millsaps men's golf team were named to the 2025-26 NCAA Division III Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars Team for the first time in their collegiate careers. 
 
The pair set the bar for Millsaps College in academics while also competing well on the golf course during the 2025-26 season, which was announced on Monday, Aug. 3 the Golf Coaches Association of America. 
 
In addition, 17 total golfers from across the Southern Athletic Association were named to the list as well.  
 
When it comes to finding a student-athlete who truly represents everything Millsaps College stands for, Kroell checks all the boxes on what the great institution looks for. 
 
The Munich, Germany native was recently named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Teams after boasting a 3.59 GPA while also being recognized on the 2026 Spring Dean's List.  
 
Kroell posted a career-best 1-under 71 in the final round of the Space City Classic, March 9-10 at the Gus Wortham Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas. 
 
Kroell also helped the Majors finish the 2025-26 regular-season out strong, where he tied for 21st at the Cochran Collegiate with a plus-18 after three rounds of competition. 
 
In the 2026 SAA Golf Championships, he made an outstanding final push up the leaderboard, improving nine spots in the final round and moving into a tie for 35th.  He fired an even 72, which featured five birdies, in the final round to finish at plus-15 overall. 
 
Berglund, who is well respected throughout the Millsaps College community by his coaches, teammates, peers, and family, was also named to the 2025–26 NCAA Division III Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars Team. 
 
The Falun, Sweden, product was also recently named to the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team. 
 
Berglund, a peer leader at Millsaps College, is currently majoring in Health & Exercise with minors in both Biology and Psychology with an astounding 3.88 GPA. 
 
He has been appointed to the Club 40 twice while landing on the President's List on three occasions and the Dean's List once. 
 
Something also to continue being proud of Berglund in is him being twice named to the SAA Academic Honor Roll. 
 
During the 2025-26 season, Berglund was recognized as the SAA Men's Golf Athlete of the Week on Oct. 29, 2025. 
 
Berglund earned the honor after competing at The Refuge Golf Course in two rounds of action. He recorded rounds of 73 and 76 for a total of 149 (+5), following a weekend of rain. He secured a career-best placement and his first-ever top 10 finish, tying for seventh overall.    
   
Berglund helped the Majors finish fourth as a team out of 11 total squads in the final event of the fall. 
 
When competing at his best off the golf course, Berglund is involved as a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) member on campus. 
 
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university. 
 
A total of 261 NCAA Division III athletes from 95 schools earned 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. Calvin had the most recipients from one school in NCAA Division III with six.
